Skandagiri, also called as kalawarahalli betta is a hill near to nandi hills famous for night trek. It is around 75 km from Bangalore city.
Start around 2 am so that you can reach the bottom of the hill at around 3 30. It is not a tough trek and you can reach the top within 2 hrs and hence can reach before sunrise. A good start for beginners.
The cold wind will be blowing in a very high velocity. The beautiful view of sunrise makes the night trek worth giving up the nice sleep. Go in a big group to enjoy.
Mist will be very dense in winter and you can hardly identify the person standing few metres away from you.
Do carry water and snacks and light food. No food is available at the top. You can start the trek in the evening and reach the top for sunset and camp there.
Reach kalawarahalli and start the trek. Nandi Hills is another place of interest nearby.
