Mandalapatti is a beautiful hillstation which is around 30 km from Madikeri, Coorg District.

One view-point is there at the top of the mountain where you can have a very beautiful panoramic view of the western ghats. From here you can see the pushpagiri which is also called as Kumara Parvata.

Even though the place doesnt have much trees since its a group of grassy hills the wind will be very cool even in the hot summer. But the whole area will be full of greenery if you plan to visit during september to december.

Road is there till the top, but a tough drive. High ground clearance is a must.

The road gets narrower and narrower while going towards mandalapatti. In the direction of madikeri and abbi falls, you get a y junction where left turn leads to
abbi falls and the right mud road (as on 17th april 2010) will lead you to the Mandalapatti.

Famous Kannada movie Galipata has been shot here. There is an entrance fees (40 Rs per head) near the view-point. If you feel it costly, you can climb any of the adjacent small hills to have an equavalent view.

You can camp in this place with the prior permission.

Abbi falls, Raja seat, Tadiyandamol, Iruppu are the places of interest nearby.

You cannot expect any food or accomodation in this place. Carry and have enough food and do carry back the plastics, bottles or anything else letting the nature pure.
