Mahadevapura is a beautiful small village which is around 25 km from Mysore. A best place for the people staying in Mysore to spend an evening or a weekend. It is in Mandya district.
Here is a bund against river kaveri. The view of water overflowing above the bund is a treat for eyes.
You can have a coracle ride which will be a good experience.The local people will take you for a reasonable money.
You can swim in summer since there will not be much force of water. Dont try it in or soon after the monsoon.
Many movies have been shot here.
No food or accomodation is available there. Carry your food, please dont leave the plastics there, so that rest of the people also enjoy the pure nature which you have enjoyed.
After reaching mahadevapur, ask any loacal person to guide you to the bund. The way through out is scenic.

bird sanctury is another place which you can visit which is only a km away from mahadevapura. You can find many species of birds migrating to this place. A beautiful picnic spot on the bank of river Kaveri.
