Talakaveri is a place which is the 'moola' or source of River Kaveri. It is located in Brahmagiri hill near Bhagamandala, Kodagu district.

It is around 315 km from Bengaluru. and around 160 km from Mysore. The place is 1276 m above sea level.

A tank has been constructed which is believed to be the origin of the River Kaveri. Lot of Pilgrims visit here every year. Every year  in the mid of October there will be a raise of fountainhead, when the water gushes up from the spring at a predetermined moment.

Brahmagiri hill is there where you can climb(steps) and have some good time with friends and family. The view is picturesque on a clear day.
